FAQ's

  • What kinds of jobs do you take on?
We specialize in full canvas systems, yacht upholstery upgrades, and custom-fit covers — not minor patch jobs or zipper fixes. If you're a broker, boat owner, or professional looking for clean, long-lasting results, we’re your crew.
  • Do you come to the boat or do we bring it to you?
We're 100% mobile. We come to you (or your client), take exact measurements on-site, then head back to our shop to build your project. Once it’s ready, we return for installation.
  • What areas do you serve?
We’re based in South Florida and cover Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Stuart, and nearby areas. For larger projects or high-end yacht work, we’re open to traveling farther — as long as it makes sense for both sides. If the job fits, we’ll make it happen.
  • Can you reupholster boat seats?
Absolutely — but we don’t just recover old seats. We often replace the foam, build new patterns, and give your boat a full refresh. It’s a true upgrade, not a quick cover-up.
  • What is the fabric on a boat called?
It depends on the type of application. For soft enclosures like isinglass or roll-up curtains, we typically use Strataglass — a flexible, marine-grade vinyl known for clarity and durability. For hard enclosures, we use polycarbonate panels such as Makrolon or M5, which come with a 5-year warranty against yellowing and cracking. For exterior covers, cushions, and canvas work, common marine fabrics include: Sunbrella (most popular for color, UV resistance, and durability) Stamoid (slicker surface, more water-resistant) Weblon and WeatherMax (for specialty marine uses)
  • What’s the best foam for cushions?
It depends on where it’s going — inside the boat or outside. For exterior cushions, we use EZ-Dri foam — an open-cell foam that drains water quickly and won’t trap moisture, mold, or mildew. It’s lightweight and perfect for marine environments. For interior cushions, we usually use: Furniture-grade Sunbrella fabric (a softer version of outdoor Sunbrella) UltraLeather (luxury, soft, durable, and high-end) Silvertex vinyl (antibacterial and stylish) Sunbrella Horizon or Beluga vinyl for a more polished marine look We also offer EVA foam (closed-cell) upon request — often used in commercial vessels or speedboats where firm, floatable, or structural foam is needed (like coaming bolsters or hard-backed seating).
  • What’s the difference between Strataglass and polycarbonate?
These are two totally different styles of marine enclosures: Strataglass: A soft, flexible vinyl window material. Great clarity and roll-up flexibility. Polycarbonate (like M5 or Makrolon): A rigid, hard-pane window material. Longer-lasting, more durable, and backed by warranties (usually 5+ years against yellowing/cracking). Used in premium, high-end enclosures. We use both — depends on the job, the boat, and the owner’s preference.
  • What is the average cost to reupholster a boat?
It really depends on the boat size, design complexity, and material selection. We don’t do budget jobs — we work with clients who want the job done right, using premium marine materials, with a perfect custom fit. If that’s you, we’d love to give you a quote.
  • How much do custom boat cushions cost?
Custom cushions are priced based on foam quality, fabric choice, layout complexity, and quantity. We don’t sell cookie-cutter cushions — we build to your specs. Give us a little info and we’ll price it right.
  • How long does a project usually take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the job. Full cushion replacements, custom covers, and enclosures can range from several days to a couple weeks. We’ll always give you a clear timeline up front — and keep you updated from start to finish.
